The Namiki Vanishing Point Fountain Pen

Just ordered a Namiki Vanishing Point fountain pen. I've been wanting one for about two years. Two years ago I was trying to decide between the VP and the Lamy 2000. I went w/ the latter and have been very happy with it. But I still wanted the Namiki. A co-worker recently got one as a gift and it put me over the edge. I should have it in 2-3 days.

It can take cartridges but I plan to use the converter so I can use bottled Noodler's ink.

Hey Christopher,
Have you ever thought about recycling your collectible pens through OnlineAuction.com ? They have a very reasonable monthly rate to sell fine items such as Writing Instruments, only $8.00 per month. One could even start offering these highly prized and priced instruments to their collector friends/collegues on this site as kind of a new to you place to trade items. Could be advantageous for all involved!!!! Check it out on OnlineAuction.com

The Namiki yellow was a limited run edition about 3 years ago. The article you refer to is an old one.

Thanks. Yes, I realize the review is a couple of years old. But it's the best review and pics I've seen of the pen.

Also, I think the only difference is the color, the current models are functionaly equivalent, from what I can tell.

hi,

One can get spare (different) nibs cheaply for these at either pendemonium or Braun pens on line. Try one of the italic nibs for a real distinctive signiture.

The converters for these pens are notorously low volume. the carts hold far more, alas.

Why did you want a Vanishing Point if you already had a Lamy 2000?
