Quick Book Review: Freakonomics

I suppose this look is a good 18 months late. I finally got around to borrowing the book and reading it. I just couldn't convince myself to buy it.

In short, I found a few bits of economic commentary surrounded by a great deal of statistics. As I saw stated elsewhere, 'if you can only read one economics book this year, make it a different one.' ;-)

More seriously, assuming you haven't already read them, your time would be much better spent reading Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson and/or Sowell's Basic Economics.

Misc.:
Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson (free PDF)
Freakonomics at Amazon
Freakonomics reviewed at Mises.org
Most Over-Hyped Economics Book of 2005

I think I read somewhere that a few of the studies were wrong or innacurate.
